Tel Aviv Fire station is a significant part of the city's infrastructure and has been serving the local community for generations. Established in 1927, the Tel Aviv Fire Station is one of the oldest fire stations in Israel and serves both Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Over its long history, it has grown to accommodate up to 50 fire-fighters and around 17 engines as well as other pieces of equipment at any given time.
Today, Tel Aviv Fire Station continues its role as one of the busiest firefighting teams in all of Israel. The team not only responds to fires but also performs rescues and provides medical aid whenever necessary. Their advanced vehicles are equipped with face masks, sprinklers, defibrillators, water pumps and various cutting tools which allow them to respond quickly while providing vital assistance.
The station works closely with other departments such as police forces or medical services during major crises like large fires or major traffic accidents. This helps not only save lives but also minimise property damage from spreading further afield than necessary.
Apart from actively responding to emergencies, the Tel Aviv Fire Station runs a variety of education programs for local schools aimed at informing children about safety measures related to fire safety and general respect for hazardous materials around them.
Recently, it launched an online map feature that indicates current danger zones within close proximity by using crowdsourcing information from individuals who can report chimney smoke and similar risks from their home’s location coordinates (lon & lat). This way affected locals get notified so they can adjust their routes in order to stay safe when going out again.
