Tel Aviv, Israel is one of the world’s most vibrant cities, known for its beautiful beaches and nightlife. Despite its small size (approximately 4 miles by 11 miles), Tel Aviv has become a major destination for entrepreneurs and global thinkers due to its thriving economy, unique culture, and can-do attitude.
Population-wise, Tel Aviv is making strides. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics in Israel in 2018, Tel Aviv boasted approximately 463 thousand people living within city limits. This marked a 3% increase from 2017's population number – an impressive feat considering that Tel Aviv already has the second highest population density in all of Israel (after Jerusalem).
More interesting than sheer numbers is everything that goes into making the city so special: an eclectic mix of residents from across countries and cultures; seamless transportation networks; a wide range of excellent educational institutions; modernized skyscrapers that sprinkle in much-needed greenery among places like Rabin Square; museums dedicated to both local and international history; global companies with headquarters alongside startup hubs…the list goes on.
It’s no surprise then why so many thousands flock here year after year – including more than 600 thousand tourists during 2018 alone! In recent years especially there have been more initiatives geared towards creating inclusive communities through economic development projects such as improving wages for working families and launching cultural preserves dedicated to preserving this special place called home.
All signs point towards steady growth and urban renewal throughout Tel Aviv. As trends continue upward we will likely see an even bigger spotlight on this unique oasis where art meets science meets vibrant culture.
