Rabin Square, located in the center of Tel Aviv, is one of Israel’s most recognizable landmarks. This bustling place, which attracts visitors from all over the world throughout the year, has become a symbol of modern Israel.
Rabin Square has experienced some fascinating developments since it was established in 1951. The area was formerly known as Kings Of Israel Square and later changed its name to Rabin Square after Yitzhak Rabin, who made his legendary peace speech here in 1995 before being assassinated at this very spot.
Today the Rabin Memorial Statue stands tall at the center of Rabin Square – a tribute to Yitzhak Rabin’s legacy of peacemaking between Israelis and Palestinians and his courageous efforts to bring about lasting peace between both sides. The bronze sculpture created by sculptor Itay Zaleman captures him giving his famous speech with folded hands.
